Omega Market Escrow - How Your Funds Are Held
Escrow acts as the intermediary between you and the vendor. Your payment sits in limbo until the delivery conditions are satisfied. Knowing the timers involved prevents unnecessary panic or missed deadlines.
When Escrow Engages
Your balance drops into escrow at the moment you complete checkout. At this point, the vendor sees the payment is coming, but cannot touch the coins yet. The funds remain in the market's internal ledger under a specific order ID. You see the order status as Paid and Waiting for Shipment. Nothing moves until the vendor marks it as sent.
Auto Finalize Timers
Physical goods trigger an automated release ten days after the vendor updates the status to Delivered. If you receive the package earlier, mark it received immediately. If you do nothing, the ten day clock starts ticking from the status change date. Digital items, such as PDF guides or software keys, release seventy two hours after dispatch. This shorter window exists because there is no physical logistics delay.
Cancellation Rights
You can cancel an order free of charge up to twenty four hours after placing it, provided the vendor has not yet marked it as shipped. After the shipment flag activates, the escrow locks. Cancelling after that point initiates a dispute process rather than a simple reversal. The twenty four hour buffer gives you time to double check quantities, addresses, and product descriptions before committing fully.
High Rated Exceptions
Vendor stores with a rating above 4.5 stars and over 1,000 completed sales can activate Finalize Early. This option lets buyers release funds sooner than the standard timers allow. It trusts the vendor's history. While convenient, it removes the safety net for minor quality complaints that might otherwise fit within the standard return window. Use this feature only with vendors you have purchased from before without issue.
