Omega Market Account Recovery - Passphrase, Mnemonic, 2FA
Your account stands on two pillars: your login passphrase and a recovery mnemonic generated by the storefront during setup. This mnemonic acts as the master key to your escrow wallet. Without it, the funds belong to the house. You must write this phrase down physically. Screenshots fail when devices break. Cloud drives invite theft.
Anchoring the Account
The system links your user ID to a specific cryptographic hash derived from your passphrase and the mnemonic. Changing your login password later does not invalidate the mnemonic. The mnemonic remains constant unless you explicitly regenerate it under secure conditions. Treat it like cash. Show it to no one. Never type it into a web form other than the designated recovery fields on the market itself.
What Recovers a Lost Passphrase
If you forget your login password but still possess the mnemonic and 2FA method, you can request a reset. The support desk verifies your PGP signature and checks your anti phishing response. Once confirmed, they reset the passphrase. However, if you lose the mnemonic along with the passphrase, the situation turns critical. Support can authenticate you via PGP, but they cannot reconstruct the numeric sequence of the mnemonic.
The Hard Limit
Cryptography does not negotiate. If you lose the mnemonic, the assets stored in your personal escrow balance become inaccessible. The support channel can prove you owned the account, but they cannot override the underlying logic that ties those funds to the lost key pair. There is no forgot my mnemonic button. The loss is permanent. Store the mnemonic in multiple physical locations. A fireproof box in one city and a sealed envelope in another provides adequate redundancy for most users.
